About the Role

As a Sales Coordinator, you will be responsible for advertising sales across all of Inboxlab’s travel brands i.e. The Discoverer. Inventory for sale includes The Discoverer’s travel editions sponsorships and other revenue-generating programs as added to the portfolio of menu items to sell. Packages and inventory will be specific to an assigned product.

You are well versed in developing new business, and new partnerships. You will work across departments learning and contributing where needed to increase efficiency, expedite growth and increase revenue from a sales’ role perspective. This role reports to the Senior Director of Travel and will evolve within the organization as our business scales.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director and team to develop a sales strategy; prepare proposals and presentations for existing and new accounts within the US market, including the acquisition of new key travel partners, partner retention, and revenue growth.

  • Develop successful advertising partnerships with major tourism boards, hotel brands, cruise companies, 3rd party aggregators and others.

  • Responsible for initial outreach, contract negotiation, insertion orders, and execution of partnerships

  • Develop a strategy and opportunities for out-of-the-box partnerships with premiere lifestyle companies and brands, that have affinity with audiences passionate about travel.

  • Track results, and challenges, including all leads that come through the department and gather prospect information.

  • Measure ROI on partnership marketing initiatives and report the results to leadership on an ongoing basis

  • Maintain client CRM database

  • Research and prepare sales reports and analysis on sales performance of initiatives to better fine-tune direction and focus

  • Act as a liaison with internal departments

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals, through account development and new business.

  • Work with colleagues to ensure that opportunities are fully leveraged for fulfillment of internal and client’s goals


What you’ll need to bring

Mandatory Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience with leading travel and/ or media companies in direct sales.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Media or related field

  • A proven ability to plan, develop, and execute online sales strategies; meet quarterly goals.

  • Familiarity with the Internet advertising industry

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to achieve results while working independently.

  • Travel industry knowledge a plus.

  • Ability to travel on company business, attend client functions and professionally represent the company.

  • Interest in working across departments, ability to learn on the fly

  • Agile mindset with “whatever it takes to get the job done attitude” is a MUST

  • Experience working in teams and enhanced ability to communicate and collaborate with team members

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including formal presentations

  • Desire to exceed expectations and always deliver

  • Ambitious and desire to learn and grow

Optional Skills – Definitely a Plus

  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

  • Experience with project / task management / communication tools like Asana and Slack

  • Ability to lead and facilitate team communication a plus

  • Start-up experience and “whatever it takes” attitude is strongly preferred
