Inboxlab presently focuses in two primary verticals: travel and gaming. Our mission-based flagship travel brand, The Discoverer, reaches 1,000,000+ subscribers with its weekly editions and the Inbox Games network currently serves 3,000,000+ game plays per month.
About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you will conduct complex data analysis that will be used to inform strategic decisions by stakeholders across the organization. You are adept at not only understanding and interpreting data, but also distilling its insights and influencing change. You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to think outside the box and take initiative. You should have a natural affinity for numbers and be a confident communicator. Above all, you should be smart, passionate and dedicated to building a great business.
What you’ll be doing
Analyze and interpret data from our Analytics tools, distilling useful insights
Collect, analyze, and distribute data to drive rapid, continual testing and improvement of all content across our brands
Continually help to improve these data tools, such as dashboards and A/B testing platforms, to enable learning across all departments (Content, Technology, Marketing, Sales)
Communicate complex ideas in a clear, precise, yet accessible way, making sure insights are easy to understand for the less data-minded
Scope appropriately pragmatic solutions to complex, unclear problems, with a focus on actionable results
Ensure all team members understand project goals, desired outcomes and their role in achieving those outcomes
Work with the Project Management team to execute post mortems and create recommendation reports
Use statistical analysis to understand trends and provide recommendations for changes based on these insights
Continually seek process improvements and new insights to improve knowledge across the company
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Math, Physics, Engineering, or a similar, relevant subject
2-4 years experience in data analysis (specific experience within digital media publishing is a plus)
High proficiency in working with data tools (specific knowledge and past experience with Google Analytics required).
Advanced knowledge in project management software systems such as Asana
Proven track record of building automated dashboards and reporting to senior stakeholders in the business
Expert analysis skills, to be numerate and highly familiar with common media and tech-industry metrics
Ability to assess data and identify important trends and insights amongst numbers
A confident communicator, capable of building strong, supportive relationships and making data intelligible to all departments
Keen ability to identify opportunities to improve processes, the conviction to voice these improvements and the determination to see through the changes
Ability to tackle complex questions in a pragmatic way
